CRD had a good opportunity to upscale its Rickshaw Bank activities in Surat. Till September 2009, there was a total of 163 hand-driven lorries on road and altogether 31 beneficiaries owned their asset. Thereafter another 8 lorries were added to ply on road till March 2010. CRD is trying to replicate the best practices amongst different parts of the northeast region as well as the whole country. However, the organization feels that there is still a long way to go to make this effort into well-organized programme
